In this topic you'll learn what Moodle is and how it can be used. Moodle is the world's most widely used Learning Management System. It includes a wide array of options to give educators full flexibility to create online courses that meet their teaching styles and their students' learning needs. Moodle is open-source and can be used in a variety of ways to support teaching and learning.
Students in online and hybrid courses often experience difficulties in engaging with course content. Carefully planning your course and adhering to the college's quality standards will help keep your students engaged in the course and the college as a whole.
In this topic, we will review how to create the various types of content your Moodle course can contain including types of resources, activities, and blocks. These components serve as the foundation of a course.
In this module, you will learn the basics of gradebook management in Moodle. Moodle has many valuable management tools for teachers to keep the gradebook up to date. The gradebook should be set up before the class begins to ensure both teachers and students have an accurate view of student progress.
It is critical for instructors to implement accessibility measures throughout the planning, design, and development stages of a Moodle course. Accessibility tools benefit all learners, and it is a federal requirement that all online content is accessible to all students. NCCCS is provided access to the Brickfield Accessibility+ toolkit to tackle many common accessibility issues in online content within Moodle.
You are almost done! Complete the final quiz in addition to each of the module quizzes to receive your official certificate of completion for this course.
There is no way we could ever cover everything you will potentially encounter while using Moodle. Please know that you can contact the DL office at any time for any questions you may have.
