Students in online and hybrid courses often experience difficulties in engaging with course content. Carefully planning your course and adhering to the college's quality standards will help keep your students engaged in the course and the college as a whole.

Upon completion of this topic, you'll be able to:

      • Create measurable module objectives that are aligned with activities.
      • Implement Quality Matters standards when planning and designing your course.
      • Define Regular and Substantive Interaction (RSI) and implement RSI-promoting activities in your course.
      • Adhere to copyright laws when importing and copying data.
      • Quality Matters (QM) is a nonprofit organization that developed a rubric to ensure that online courses align with a high level of quality to increase student engagement and success. Below, you will find links to an overview we created on how to apply the different QM standards in your courses as well as link to a list of the QM standards. Full QM rubrics are available upon request from the DL Department.

Please note that your course manager (the person(s) with the "manager" role on your courses' Enrolled Users list) will perform a readiness audit one to two weeks prior to the start of your courses. The results of this audit will automatically be sent to the email address listed on your Moodle account. Keep an eye out for this as you will be required to complete any requested changes within 10 days of the completion of your audit.
