My chosen career field is policing. I was inspired by some police officers who are close to me and those who have helped me. I chose to do classes in college to better understand the law and how policing works. I figured I'd get a head start while I'm still young.
Why I am taking Spanish
I am taking Spanish solely to pass, however I am intrigued in learning the language. My inspiration is my job. A large portion of the customers at my workplace are Hispanic. It would be much easier to learn the language rather than having a coworker communicate with certain customers that I cant communicate with.
Why I take Spanish
The main reason I'm taking Spanish is because its required, but I've also always had an interest for other languages. I have attempted to learn Spanish in the past but didn't get very far. I'm excited to take this class and hopefully learn more than I ever have.
to graduate
My dad inspired me to go into health care.

Who or what inspired you to work in your chosen career field?
I chose to pursue a career in early childhood education because I enjoy working with young children and want to make a positive difference in their lives. Watching children learn new skills and grow each day inspires me to become a teacher who encourages, supports, and motivates them. I also believe that the early years are very important because they help shape a child’s future. I want to create a safe, caring, and fun learning environment where every child feels valued and has the opportunity to succeed. I hope to be a positive role model and help children build confidence and a love for learning.
who inspired me
At this time I am taking Spanish as a high school graduation requirement. I do not know at this time what I plan to go to school for, therefore I do not know who has inspired my career choice.
Who or what inspired you to work in your chosen career field?
I did not have anyone who really inspired me in this path. I do love to help people and see them succeed. I also love the healthcare field. That is why I chose where I am.
My Chosen Field
There were many factors that contributed to my interest of neuroscience, oncology, and pharmaceuticals. Firstly, neuroscience is heavily related to mental health. My mom works at a behavioral health facility, and I have walked through the mental health portion of different hospitals. I want to study the brain to see how different mental health disorders and conditions impact behavior, cognition, and brain function. Secondly, I have shadowed as a pharmacy technician before, and I know what the job is. I would like to learn more about how different drugs effect the body and the brain, and I would like to experiment with making more IV bags. Lastly, I have had 2 grandmothers to pass from cancer related complications. I have been to the cancer floors, I have seen the procedures, and I have seen the different aftermaths. I want to know how cancer starts and how it can be treated. There are so many questions I have for each field of labor, and I desire to go through each one successfully. Overall, my love interest for the medical field is what inspires me to choose these fields.
My Chosen Field
A lot of things have given me the inspiration to take on the field of meteorology; one of them being that there aren't many people out there with those types of interests. Another thing that contributed were occurrence famous tornados that happened between 1990 - 2025, the most recent major one being in 2025, occurring in Enderlin, North Dakota. The tornado roared through Enderlin, and was originally rated as an EF3 with windspeeds of 160 mph. But there was a catch. After Incident Meteorologists (IMETs) went further with an additional investigation, it led the tornado to being ranked an EF5, the highest classification of a tornado on the Enhanced Fujita Scale, as all tornadoes ranked EF5 must exceed windspeeds of 201 mph.
During the investigation, it was recorded that a freight train had been lifted and tossed nearly 500 feet off the tracks, knocking over several fully loaded grain hopper cars, which can contain common cargos of cereal grains (e.g., wheat, barley), oilseeds and legumes, or byproducts. After collaboration with damage experts and Western University's Storm Lab, it was estimated that to completely overturn a fully loaded grain hopper, the tornado had to have windspeeds of 230 mph, and 266 - 280 mph to further launch the other two grain hopper cars farther than the first one.
This expedition made it the first time in 12 years that a tornado had been given an EF5 rank, since the devastation of Moore, Oklahoma in 2013. It is intriguing factors such as these, other testimonies and survival stories that make me want to learn more about weather phenomena; how natural disasters form, how they move, how they strengthen from certain factors, and how they can become a hazard if not people aren't warned in time.
It was ranked as the fifth top tornado with the highest windspeeds, as the first tornado was to accomplish such a feat was the 1999 Bridge Creek-Moore tornado, with windspeeds exceeding 321 mph; the second tornado being the 2024 Greenfield-Iowa tornado, exceeding 318 mph; the third, the 2013 El-Reno-Oklahoma, exceeding 302-318 mph; and the fourth, the El-Reno-Piedmont, Oklahoma tornado with windspeeds clocking at 295 mph.
A book that also inspired me was called "I Survived: Tornado Terror"; this book happened to inspire me so much that when I was in Riverview in 5th Grade, I completed a project poster on it; I also had the pleasure of talking with the mayor of Ahoskie and his co-worker at the high school about how they weren't any local weather stations around the area. In conclusion, all of these factors have deeply fascinated me with severe weather, including additional motivation from scientific investigations, protecting communities, and building up my passion from childhood experiences.
