I started my career on HVAC because my dad worked in the field before he passed away. Following the same career path would be a way for me to carry on something he did and keep his memory with me. I want to learn the trade, work hard, and build a good future for myself while making my dad proud.

I'm pursing a BSN in nursing. What inspired me was not having a lot of people that looked like me in healthcare settings. Certain experiences where I have been dismissed because there's a bias that says black people don't feel pain like others races which has never been a fact taught in any nursing class yet it's always coming up and showing up throughout healthcare. I want to be the change to that. I want to be the nurse that listens to the facts instead of judging do to stereotypes carried within. I want to set a standard in healthcare. Often times black people are afraid t go to doctors and dentist fearing they won't receive fair treatment or good quality care. The maternity death rate for black women is so much higher than any other race no matter their socioeconomic status basically put whether they're rich or poor they are stilled not listened to dying from things that are preventable if only they were heard and taken seriously. That's my why.

What inspired me to work in my chosen career field is my desire to build a better future for myself and my family. I have always wanted a career where I can continue learning, develop new skills, and have opportunities for personal and professional growth. I am also inspired by people who worked hard to achieve their goals despite facing challenges. Their determination motivates me to keep working toward my own goals. I hope my chosen career will allow me to make a positive difference while also creating a stable and successful future.

My grandmother is my inspiration to pursue a career is nursing, who was a nurse and always encouraged me to help others. I grew up, seeing the compassion and dedication towards others. At a very young age she became someone I could look up to. I promised her I would become a nurse one day, and that promise continues to motivate me as I strive to achieve that goal. I want to make a difference in the lives of my patients and their families while I make my family proud. 

I am attending Roanoke Chowan Community College to obtain my Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education. My children inspired me to become a teacher, as I love children and working with them. I know the impact a caring teacher can have on a child's future, and I would love to contribute and make a positive change in their lives if able.

Hey y'all, I'm Jordyn Umphlett. I want to be a labor and delivery nurse for many reasons, but the main one is to help mothers have the best experience giving birth to their babies. Making sure every mother knows how beautiful this experience is in her life. It's such a beautiful thing in life too. It's just amazing what a mother's body does during her pregnancy is just wow.  

I would like to work for the railroad, however, it comes from a different source of inspiration. The show Thomas the Tank Engine inspired me to work for this field, I have loved trains ever since I was young, and working for the railroad comes naturally with this interest.

Taking care of my son and my friend during health crises has inspired me to become a nurse. Working with nurses at the hospital and hospice helped me realize that I would like to help people in this way.

Good afternoon, my mother inspiring me to retuning back to school and get my degree. We talking about and she was correct and i getting older and i want to start my own business and so wouldn't have a lot to do when i get older. I pray that i will learn a lot to be successful in what i an trying to achieve with the grace of GOD.

The person that inspired me to work toward my welding diploma is my granddaddy.  He has always been a hobby farmer and has grown to over 100 acres of his own farmland (not including cow pasture).  When things break, he learned to fix them on his own.  When I was a little kid, I would watch him with his welding helmet in have on my own protection equipment.  I knew I wanted to learn the craft.  I am not into my 4th semester of welding (while still in high school) and have really enjoyed it.

The person who inspired me to work in this chosen field is my mom and a couple of family members who also work in this field. Also, another reason why I want to work in this field is because I like watching a lot of criminal shows.

Hello everyone, my name is Hayleigh and I am currently doing the nursing program here.  The people that inspired me to chose this career path are my great aunt and my granddaddy.  My aunt has been a nurse for years and she inspired me because she always talks about how much she cares for her patients and how much they appreciate her for everything she does.  When I told her that I wanted to be a nurse she got so happy and told me she supported me 100% and told me she wanted me to be successful.  Now with my granddaddy it was the way the nurses treated him while he was in the hospital.  They cared so much for him and he loved them so much.  He told me that he felt safe with them and I wanted to be that for other people.

What inspired me to want to work in the medical field was myself. I loved to help people since I was little, they were hurt. I don't mind the blood and gore of the medical field. As a child I smashed the tip of my finger in a double pane window, I hid the wound and took care of it by myself for 2 days before my parents found out. I want to help people when they are sick or injured. I want to help people on their worst day of their lives.

I would like to become a veterinarian after high school. I was inspired to do this because I always enjoyed helping animals. Keeping animals healthy is so kind. 

I'm currently a high school student taking dual enrollment classes so I can become a speech pathologist. What inspired me was my own speech delay when I was younger. I was depressed for some time because I couldn't pronounce certain words, so my mom got me a speech teacher to help me. That teacher would always put a smile on my face, and they still hold a special place in my heart. Being able to do that for others is amazing to me, and I would like to do that as well.

I would like to become a dental hygienist after highschool. I was inspired to do this by the fact that a persons smile is one of the first things you notice about someone. Smiles also give people confidence, so by me cleaning peoples to teeth to keep them white it can give people more confidence and increase their appearance.

As the wife of a truck driver, I wanted to ensure that we maximized our income and became a freight broker. Becoming a broker was a great experience to get freight delivered and build relationships with the customers. 

I'm currently a high school student so I haven't chosen my career path yet, but I have been exploring being an Electrician. My grandfather used to do electrical work and it would always intrigue me when I watched him.  

My pediatrician that I went to my whole life inspired me to want to work in the medical field.

I mainly am taking Spanish because I have to, however i have always thought it would be cool to learn another language. I've tried Spanish before but didnt get very far. I'm excited to learn alot about Spanish.

My chosen career field is policing. I was inspired by some police officers who are close to me and those who have helped me. I chose to do classes in college to better understand the law and how policing works. I figured I'd get a head start while I'm still young.

I am taking Spanish solely to pass, however I am intrigued in learning the language. My inspiration is my job. A large portion of the customers at my workplace are Hispanic. It would be much easier to learn the language rather than having a coworker communicate with certain customers that I cant communicate with.

The main reason I'm taking Spanish is because its required, but I've also always had an interest for other languages. I have attempted to learn Spanish in the past but didn't get very far. I'm excited to take this class and hopefully learn more than I ever have.
